ReikiReiki is very often used a complimentary therapy to conventional treatments. It has been known to help with the following:
- Relieves pain
- Reduces stress and helps with relaxation
- Improves sleep
- Helps produce feeling of peace and well-being
- Relieves anxiety
- Calms the mind
- Helps to balance the emotions…Fear, anger, grief
- Good for prevention of illness
- Boosts the immune system
- Improves mental clarity
The client lies, fully clothed, on a plinth or sits on a chair (depending on their requirements) in a quiet setting. Soft music may be played or the session will be in silence, whichever the client prefers.
Reiki will be offered through light touch with the practitioner’s hands placed on a series of locations on the body. The placement of the hands will never be intrusive or inappropriate, nor will there be any pressure. In the presence of an open injury, the session can be completed with the practitioner’s hands just off the body.
The client can adjust their position at any time throughout, as their comfort is the most important aspect of the session.
What is Reiki ?
Reiki is a Japanese healing therapy which uses the life force energy of the client to balance the body. By channelling energy Reiki activates the body’s natural healing processes to help to bring homeostasis emotionally, physically and spiritually.
We all have an energy field that flows through us. Sometimes, over time this energy field can become depleted and this can disrupt the life force and reduce the efficient working of the organs and cells in the physical body. Reiki raises the vibrational energy of the life force which, in turn clears, strengthens and heals the organs. Some think that Reiki promotes relaxation, calms the mind and gives a sense of peace and well-being and this helps to encourage the body to heal itself.
